Murray entered industry as a Process Instrument Technician with the State Electricity Commission of Western Australia at Kwinana Power Station in 1986, working on gas and steam turbines, along with boiler overhaul and maintenance. In the following years experience was gained in automotive engine R&D, then base metals processing and smelting, performing commissioning and process improvement roles. The result is a broad and extensive hands on experience in many areas including Instrumentation, Electrical, High Voltage, and Hazardous Area Electrical Installations.
As a Field Service Representative (FSR) for 4 years with Solar Turbines, he received full factory training in the USA on the Solar range of products, specialising in commissioning, troubleshooting and servicing Solar’s full product line, both centrifugal compressors and generators. After leaving Solar in 2006, Murray gained experience with GE products, co-ordinating the implementation of Woodside’s Turbine Control System Upgrade project for the Karratha Gas Plant, entailing 35 machines. This led to 5 years of project management and systems administration of Completions & Commissioning Management Systems (CCMS) for major O&G projects.
Murray has a total of 30 years of experience in the Oil & Gas, Energy, Minerals and Processing industries, the last 12 years of which has been multi-disciplinary, but primarily Instrument and Electrical. Recent project achievements include off-shore Commissioning & Completions project close-outs, numerous projects customised to the client’s needs, and Project Management. Murray has been a part of the AJSS Gas Turbine specialist team since 2015. During this time he has being involved in various Project Management, Technical Auditing and Field support roles.
